On a beautiful Sunday afternoon on December 1981, members of the newly-formed Larchmont Historical Society and their friends made a pilgrimage to six Victorian dwellings that for a microcosm of the history and architecture of Larchmont Manor. From that day, the House Tour because an annual event and is now a Larchmont tradition. Thirty years later, the 2011 LHS House Tour continues the tradition, featuring homes in the Pine Brook neighborhood of Larchmont, original developed in the early 1900s as “Larchmont Park.”
To honor the tradition, the Historical Society has launched a new website – Larchmont Homes – which features the neighborhoods, homes and architecture of Larchmont. In the tradition of the Historical Society’s “House Calls” series of publications assembling information about homes featured in past house tours, our new website assembles and digitally presents our house tour programs.
